Sherrill picks up key union endorsement from Workers United in bid for New Jersey Governor
Workers United represents over six thousand workers in New Jersey including manufacturing, food service, Starbucks, laundry service workers, and more
TRENTON, NJ - Rep. Mikie Sherrill added a key endorsement to her growing list of organizational supporters today when the politically active and innovative union Workers United announced they will back her in the race for New Jersey Governor.
Workers United has a proven reputation as a growing union with a strong track record of organizing a new generation of union leaders. The union has pioneered the use of tech-enabled, worker-led campaigns that have recently secured new rights and power for baristas, rock climbing gym workers, and food service workers on college campuses. The union will build on this organizing by educating and mobilizing its long-time and new members to participate in the 2025 elections and beyond.
“The members of Workers United will not just be endorsing in this election, we will be mobilizing and spreading the word to our neighbors, families, and co-workers that Mikie Sherrill is the candidate who cares the most about working people and about the real issues,” said Lynne Fox, President of Workers United.
“I am honored to have the support of Workers United — a union with an important legacy of fighting for workers who make critical but often overlooked contributions to our state and our economy. We want to build a New Jersey where all workers have fair wages, respect at work, and dignity in retirement. Workers United President Lynne Fox is a tireless advocate for her members both in New Jersey and beyond, and I look forward to our efforts together on behalf of working families in the Garden State,” said Rep. Sherrill in a statement.
