BOSTON – Starbucks partners from two Boston area locations filed petitions with the National Labor Relations Board Monday to form a union. The two stores that employ almost 50 partners are in Allston and Brookline.
“We at Workers United, and our Buffalo partners are here to assist any Starbucks store that wants to form a union,” said Richard Minter, International Organizing Director for Workers United, an SEIU affiliate.
Workers United, the labor union that Starbucks Workers United is a part of, represents more than 86,000 workers in the apparel, laundry, food service, hospitality, non-profits, warehouse distribution and manufacturing industries in the United States and Canada. The organization is headquartered in Philadelphia, PA.
