What is a Union?

Organize

A collective voice

Unions are a simple proposition: by joining together, working people gain strength in numbers, so we have a at work about issues that are important to us.

The union, through the collective strength of the membership, can achieve through negotiations what an individual cannot. People who work without the protection of a union are at the mercy of the employer and have no ability to protect themselves.

Your union will negotiate a contract with your employer for a fair and safe workplace, better wages, a secure retirement, family friendly policies such as paid sick leave and scheduling hours, and equity for all. You will have a voice in how your job gets done, creating a more stable, productive workforce that provides better services and products.

Guided by our legacy, Workers United is your union of the future. Workers United recognizes our evolving workforce and we are committed to meeting the needs of all workers in today's flexible and non-traditional work environments.
