National Labor Relations Board decides to allow ballot tally in Buffalo, N.Y., to proceed on Thursday

Nearly nine in 10 Canada Goose employees who work at the company's Winnipeg production facility have voted to unionize.

Workers at three plants owned by the luxury apparel-maker Canada Goose in Winnipeg, Manitoba, have voted overwhelmingly to unionize, according to results announced by the union on Wednesday.

Staff members leading the organizing effort in Buffalo, N.Y., say they're fielding inquiries from other stores. Meanwhile they're already thinking about contract negotiations.

Starbucks baristas are beginning to organize in two cities and a representative from Workers United – an arm of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) – told the Free Press Starbucks workers in Columbus have reached out to them.

Three Western New York Starbucks stores are currently voting on whether their individual stores will unionize. Votes are due to the National Labor Relation Board next Wednesday and the count will happen the following day.
