Workers at a Starbucks in Cleveland banded together and petitioned the National Labor Relation Board (NLRB) for unionization, pushing to become the coffee chain's first union store in Ohio, according to Starbucks Workers United union.

Starbucks partners at Genesee St. won a major victory when the NLRB ruled that the attempt by Starbucks to pack the voting list with partners from another store was not legitimate.

Starbucks partners from Knoxville, Tennessee on Thursday decided to join their fellow partners around the country and organize with Starbucks Workers United.

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) confirmed today that Workers United will be certified as the bargaining representative for partners at the Starbucks Elmwood location.
